The day has finally come. The old WordMerge designer, which we remember fondly, despite requiring hours upon hours of work, is out. In its stead, meet the Narrative Template Designer.
Overall, the new Narrative Designer, also known as the In-app Editor, is a much easier-to-use tool. On the con side, you lose the flexibility of formatting your template in Word, where the possibilities are endless. But the pros outweigh this con - the new tool allows for a much quicker narrative design and retains many Word-like design options, such as tables, bullet points, etc.
The tool also contains a self-creating narrative option that is imperfect, but at least provides a starting point.
A nice feature is the Bookmarks. In addition to note fields, you can import into your narrative various data elements from the app, such as the next appointment, the provider name, the patient's demographics, the medications, the diagnosis assigned, and more.
Overall, while this still doesn't reduce narrative design to a matter of minutes - it still takes a while to create a comprehensive template - the new template designer is substantially less painful. We at Arrowwood have mastered the use of it and would be delighted to assist you with it!
